Melkersson – Rosenthal syndrome (SMR) is a disease manifested by triad of symptoms: swelling the lips and/or face, paralysis facial nerve, scrotal tongue. In clinical practice, monosymptomatic variant SMR more common. The can develop at any age, but most cases occur 25–40 years with 2-fold predominance women among patients. children, often observed age 7 to 12 years, and smallest child described 22 months. causes have not been definitively clarified. There are many hypotheses about pathogenesis SMR, main which allergic, angioedema, infectious genetic, immunological dysfunction. various historically established terms: Mischer’s granulomatous cheilitis, orofacial granulomatosis, regularly used as synonyms in available literature. To date, remains diagnosis exclusion, accompanied establishment controversial diagnoses practical healthcare. cases, treatment ineffective. Mainly systemic glucocorticosteroids, antibiotics, antihistamines, immunosuppressive drugs used, upon discontinuation recurs. this publication, we present two SMR. interest first case lies presence entire group symptoms achievement positive result. second characterized long-term remission result combination therapy betamethasone, azithromycin ketotifen.
